this course is an introduction to fundamental elements and principles of drawing. this course is a pre-requisite for all other art classes. studio practice emphasizing line, shape, light-dark, texture, and composition as used in visual art and design is emphasized. aesthetic valuing, artistic, perception/criticism, production/creative expression, historical/cultural context, connections/applications. this studio course is designed to provide students with technical skills to be able to observe reality and solve studio problems.
