$15 Prerequisite: *Admission by application This class is an
introduction to interpreting the visual arts. Its chief goal is to assist the
student in understanding and appreciating key examples of architecture,
sculpture, and painting as historical documents and human expressions. The
course will acquaint the student with the historical, cultural, and philosophical
context within which great art has been produced and develop skills necessary
for critically evaluating and comparing works of art. Analytical and writing
skills are essential for success in this class. Students who pass the AP Exam
will be awarded university credit by participating universities. |
