Why should I do IB?
IB gives you:
·
A common curricular framework
·
A highly coherent intellectual experience that
proceeds developmentally from year to year.
·
An educational curriculum that utilizes the best
educational practices from around the world.
·
Tests that assess higher level thinking and develop
habits of mind that colleges say are most important for success at the
university level
In recognition of the International Baccalaureate (IB)
Diploma Programme sponsored by the International
Baccalaureate Organization (IBO), students who complete IB subjects in high
school through an approved IB World School and receive scores of 5, 6, or 7 may
be granted credits at UVSC. Credit will be posted as a "CR" grade and
will not be calculated in the GPA. …..refer to our Transfer Articulation database under the
institution name of "IBO Int'l Baccalaureate Program" for
questions you may have regarding what courses are granted at UVSC for specific
IB subjects, levels and grades.
Standard Level (SL) subjects are typically granted 3
credits.
Higher Level (HL) subjects are typically granted 6 credits.
If the Diploma is earned, students may receive up to 30
semester credits at UVSC.
